Bowes joins Tigers for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers women’s volleyball head coach Patrick Murray is pleased to announce the commitment of Julia Bowes for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, the 5’11 middle blocker played for the Fury Volleyball Club from 2022-24 where Bowes won two provincial gold medals. Bowes played for her high school team from 2022-2025, finishing on the podium each year with bronze, gold, and silver medals at provincials.
Bowes was named Halifax West Rookie of the Year in 2022-23, and the following year saw her named MVP of the Dalhousie tournament and won the Team of the Year award with the Fury Volleyball Club. This past season, Bowes was named Halifax West MVP and a provincial all star.
“I am super excited to be welcomed into the Tigers family.” Says Bowes. “The high-level coaching staff as well as the team atmosphere really drew me to the university. The environment is very competitive, yet supportive and really feels like a family!”
Bowes will be studying arts at Dalhousie.
"We are very excited to be welcoming Julia to the Tigers.” Says Murray. “She is an agile middle who is capable of having a significant impact on the court both as a blocker and as an attacker. Julia is a natural fit for our offensive system and we look forward to watching her continue to grow as a Tiger."
The Tigers finished the AUS regular season in first place with 16 wins and four losses.
