June 22, 2026
Dalhousie Tigers women's soccer head coach Cindy Tye is pleased to announce the commitment of Ally Wilton for the 2026-27 season.
A 5'5 midfielder from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Wilton brings experience, leadership, and championship pedigree to the Tigers program. Known for her work ethic, technical ability, and competitive mentality, she will add valuable depth and experience to Dalhousie's midfield unit.
Wilton joins the Tigers after four successful seasons with Cape Breton University from 2021-2024. During her time with the Capers, she helped lead the program to AUS Championships in 2022 and 2024 while serving as team captain for two seasons. She also competed with Halifax County United from 2021-2025, helping the club capture NSSL Championships in both 2022 and 2025.
Throughout her university career, Wilton earned numerous individual accolades for her contributions on and off the field. She was named Cape Breton University Rookie of the Year in 2021, received the Caper Award in 2023, and was honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to the Team Award in 2024. Her performances also earned AUS Second Team All-Star recognition in 2023 and AUS First Team All-Star honours in 2024.
Academically, Wilton has demonstrated an equally impressive commitment to excellence. She was recognized as a U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian in each of her four seasons at Cape Breton University and was the recipient of the Cape Breton Professional Engineering Memorial Award in 2024.
Wilton was drawn to Dalhousie by the university's strong reputation both academically and athletically. She was particularly impressed by the quality of the programs and opportunities available to student-athletes, noting that her experience with the university has already exceeded her expectations.
Dalhousie has also long held a special place within Wilton's family. Her mother is a Dalhousie alumna, and she grew up surrounded by Tiger pride, while her aunt, Jill, competed for the Dalhousie women's basketball team.
"I'm super excited to be using my last year of eligibility with the Tigers. The positive and competitive energy within this team is contagious, and it's something I feel very fortunate to be a part of. The players and coaches have been incredibly welcoming since day one, and I'm eager to see what we can accomplish together next season."
