Tigers tame X-Women 2-1
Paris Axam scored her second goal of the weekend in the Tigers win over STFX.

ANTIGONISH- The Dalhousie Tigers women's soccer team picked up their second win of the weekend, dropping the STFX X-Women 2-1 on Sunday afternoon in Antigonish.
STFX forward Avril Jameson opened the scoring for 31 minutes into the game with a great individual effort, stripping a defender of the ball and slotting one low from inside the box. Dalhousie replying three minutes later though, with Paris Axam (Ottawa, ON) hitting one from distance. The goal was Axam's second of the campaign. Possession was even in the first half, though the Tigers held an advantage in shots, 7-3.
Sally Steinberg (Hamilton, ON) broke the deadlock in the 66th minute, hitting one from in close off a pass from Ella Halliday. Dalhousie continued to pressure STFX, who replied with a few chances of their own. Tiger Jordan Mansfield hit the post in the final five minutes, but Bach pounced on the bounce and kept the ball out.
Bach finished with 9 saves, while Emily Toth had six for the visitors. Axam picked up player of the game honors for Dalhousie, while Jamieson was the Gabriel Pizza Player of the Game.
The Tigers return home next weekend for a Friday evening matchup with the Acadia Axewomen. The X-Women are away next weekend, when they visit the St. Mary's Huskies on September 5.
