Tigers lead through day one of AUS Invitiatonal
Emma Carrier Clarke won two races and qualified for U SPORTS in the 100m freestyle.
The Dalhousie Tigers lead the second AUS Invitational through the first day of races, while UNB, Memorial and Mount Allison are in a tight race for second.
The session opened with the women's 50m freestyle. It was a Tigers sweep with Emma Carrier Clarke just off the AUS record, recording a time of 26.55. Lily MacLean touched in second and Liv Hatch third.
In the men's event, Dalhousie's John Cluett touched the wall first with a time of 23.79 seconds followed by fellow Tiger Quinn Nolan in second and UNB's Blake Kingston in third.
Dalhousie's Emilie Schofield won the women's 200m backstroke followed by fellow Tiger Hailey Wignall and UNB's Bronwyn Preece. It was a Tigers sweep of the men's event. Declan Nolan touched the wall in 2:02.80, just off the U SPORTS qualifying time. Cameron Carlyle touched second followed by Morgan Sparkes in third.
Mia Stein-Blumberg won the women's 100m butterfly with a time of 1:02.75. Dalhousie's Amari DeLima-Baril touched in third followed by fellow Tiger Sara Bennett. Tiger Nate Thompson won the men's event, with UNB's Camden Reid in second and Dalhousie's Alexander Josen-Humble in third.
It was a Dalhousie sweep of the women's 50m breaststroke with Ava MacKenzie touching in first followed by Lily MacLean and Isla Campbell. In the men's event UNB's Blake Kingston touched in first with a time of 29.42 followed by Memorial's Jake LeCoure in second and Dalhousie's Quinn Nolan in third.
In the women's 200m freestyle, Carrier Clarke touched in first with a time of 2:04.54 followed by Memorial's Jordan LeRoy and Megan Holden. In the men's event, Dalhousie's David Harvie touched the wall in first followed by Yannick Morgans in second and Memorial's Felix Sheppard in third.
Dalhousie's Alexia Morgans won the women's 400m IM followed by Stein-Blumberg in second and Mikhaela Johnson in third. Timothy McCowan won the men's race followed by fellow Tiger Jonsen-Humble and Memorial's Jackson Prowse.
Carrier Clarke qualified for U SPORTS in the women's 100m freestyle with a time of 56.95 for first place. Maria McDougall of UNB touched the wall in second followed by Tiger DeLima-Baril.
The Dalhousie men swept the men's event with Harvie touching first, Thompson second and Oliver Dawood in third.
MacKenzie won her second breaststroke of the afternoon in the women's 100m with a time of 1:14.05. Campbell touched second followed by Memorial's Emma Power. UNB's Kingston also won his second race of the afternoon, touching in a time of 1:04:09. Dalhousie's Carlyle was second and Memorial's LeCoure third.
Emily Schofield won the women's 800m freestyle with a time of 9:03.76. Fellow Tiger Alexia Morgans was second and Jordan LeRoy of Memorial was third. Yannick Morgans won the men's event followed by Tiger Morgan Sparkes and Sea-Hawk Felix Sheppard.
The teams return to the pool on Sunday at 2pm for the second session.
