Tigers add Wongus for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers men’s hockey head coach Chris Donnelly is pleased to announce the commitment of Ethan Wongus for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, the 5’10 forward played for the Marine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) this past season, where he recorded 60 points in 59 games. Before playing for the Nordiques, Wongus played for the New Jersey Titans from 2022-2024, where he accumulated a total of 49 points. In 2021-22, Wongus was named an 18U first-team all-star in the North American Prep Hockey League, and in 2023-24, he was named to the NAHL east division all-star team.
“Coming to Dalhousie and joining the Tigers feels like a fresh chapter full of opportunity.” Says Wongus. “I am ever grateful for the chance to compete at a high level with this team, represent a historic program, and continue chasing my goal as a student athlete.”
Following in the footsteps of his father, who holds a business degree, and his grandmother, a Dalhousie master’s graduate, Wongus will pursue a degree in management.
“Ethan is an exceptional two-way gritty player who is equally effective with and without the puck.” Says Donnelly. “He is a tenacious forechecker, as well as a very explosive player with the puck. In speaking with Ethan, his tone speaks to his maturity level and leadership abilities. The Dalhousie and Halifax community are going to benefit greatly from Ethan’s decision to join our program.”
The Tigers open their 2025-26 season at UNB on October 3.
