Tigers add Richardson for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers men’s hockey head coach Chris Donnelly is pleased to announce the commitment of Carter Richardson for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, the 6’2 goaltender played for the Marine Nordiques in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) from 2023-25. In 2023-24, Richardson played 30 regular season games with a .929 save percentage and nine playoff games with a .950 save percentage. The following year in 2024-25, Richardson played 39 regular season games achieving a .926 save percentage and 11 playoff games with a .950 save percentage.
Richardson was named goaltender of the week in the NAHL east division five times in 2024-25 and was named to the NAHL east first team in 2024-25. Prior to playing for the Marine Nordiques, Richardson played for the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in the British Columbia Hockey League where he was named to the top prospects game.
“I’m really excited to be playing at home.” Says Richardson. “I couldn’t have drawn it up better. I can’t wait to meet the boys and excited for the start of the season.”
An honour roll student, Richardson will be studying recreation management at Dalhousie.
“We are excited to be adding a local goaltender with Carter’s abilities.” Says Donnelly. “He has a big presence in the net and is both very athletic, as well as very competitive.”
The Tigers open their 2025-26 season at UNB on October 3.
