Dalhousie Tigers women’s soccer head coach Cindy Tye is pleased to announce the commitment of Hannah Lewis for the 2020-21 season.
Lewis, a native of Dartmouth, N.S., is a product of the United Dartmouth Football Club (UDFC) youth system. A long-term member of the Nova Scotia Provincial Program, the centre midfielder helped Team Nova Scotia to four consecutive Atlantic Championship wins. A former member of the Regional Excel Program (REX), Lewis currently plays for the Halifax Dunbrack women’s premier team.
“I am extremely excited about coming to Dalhousie next year,” says Lewis.” I am looking forward to continuing my soccer career while also pursuing my academic and future career goals. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to play for the Tigers and I cannot wait to get started!”
A Principal's List student for all three years at Prince Andrew High School, Lewis will be studying science at Dalhousie.
"Hannah grew up as a multisport athlete who understands how to train and compete,” says Tye. “She is a consistent midfielder who is able to read the game and make others around her better. She is willing to do the defensive work that is needed to protect the backline and settle the game. Hannah has always been considered a leader no matter where she has played. She brings character that exemplifies a team-first attitude and we are excited to welcome the type of student-athlete that Hannah is to the Tigers!"
