Tigers women’s soccer coach Cindy Tye is pleased to announce the commitment of Ally Bodner for the 2019-20 season.
Bodner is a midfielder from Edmonton, Alberta. As a member of the Sherwood Park Phoenix, she is a two-time Alberta champion, winning the title in 2017 and 2018. Bodner and her teammates continued to a sixth-place finish at nationals in 2017 and improved to a fifth-place finish at the end of the 2018 season.
In the classroom, Bodner has been a three-year member of the St. Francis Xavier High School honour roll.
“I feel energized and excited that I am going to be able to continue my soccer career in a competitive environment surrounded by focused and committed student-athletes,” says Bodner.
While attending Dalhousie, Bodner will be working towards a Bachelor of Science.
“Ally is a player that reads the game quickly and is able to make good decisions under pressure,” says Tye. “She has an ability to rise to the occasion during competition and can be counted on to do the little things necessary to help her team. A versatile player, we are excited to welcome Ally to the Tigers!”
The Tigers start their 2019-20 season away to Moncton September 6, before returning home to host Acadia on September 8.
