The Dalhousie Tigers women’s basketball head coach Anna Stammberger is pleased to announce the commitment of Brinly Holt for the 2020-21 season.
A 5’11 point guard, Brinly is a three-year member of the Citadel High School varsity girls basketball team. Named the team’s rookie of the year for the 2017-18 season, she also earned the Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Varsity Girls Basketball Rookie of the Year that same year.
Off the court Brinly was named to the Principal’s List for the 2017-18 year and earned high honours in the 2018-19 school year.
A Halifax, N.S. native, Brinly is the sister of current Tiger Emily Holt.
“I am excited for the new challenges next year and I can’t wait to play alongside my sister again,” says Holt. “I hope to bring a positive contribution to the team.”
Brinly will be working towards a Bachelor of Science in Nursing while attending Dalhousie.
“We're very excited to welcome Brinly to the Tigers,” says Stammberger. “Her athleticism, drive, defence and the way she pushes the ball in transition will all be welcome additions to our team! Brinly is an impact student-athlete both in the classroom and on the court and we look forward to having her passion for the game and competitive spirit join our team.”
The Tigers have one game remaining in the 2019-20 season on Saturday February 22nd when they travel to UNB.
